Leading up to the weekend’s showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes has shown plenty of love to Ben Roethlisberger.
NFL fans across the country will be excited to see Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs, take on the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night. This one is a huge favorite for the Chiefs as Pittsburgh was barely able to make it into the postseason.
That doesn’t matter to Mahomes, though, as the star signal-caller has plenty of respect for the Steelers and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Mahomes stated in his latest comments that this should be a fight between dogs.
Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs and Steelers know they will be ready to fight
“He’s an all-time great quarterback that’s going to be in the Hall of Fame one day, but he’s still playing great football right now,” Mahomes speaks out about Roethlisberger via Pro Football Talk. “If you look at the big-time throws, he’s made to keep their season alive, we know it’s going to be a great challenge for us.”
The Chiefs have won back-to-back AFC championships and the team is looking to bring home its second Super Bowl win in three seasons. Roethlisberger and Co. will have something to say about that come Sunday, as Pittsburgh is hoping to record one of the biggest upsets we’ve see in a while.
While Roethlisberger’s level of play has dropped in recent seasons and this is expected to be potentially his final game of his career, Mahomes knows that Big Ben has what it takes to get the job done against Kansas City. Because of this, the Chiefs won’t lose focus for a minute and keep the pedal to the metal throughout.
