Time is running out, and time is our lives! Mariupol defenders call for evacuation

Serhii Volyna, who continues to defend the Azovstal steel works in Mariupol alongside other Ukrainian soldiers, said that Mariupol defenders have ended up in a “hell-like reality TV show,” watched by the entire world. They are still hoping that a decision regarding their evacuation will be approved.

Quote from Volyna: “It is as if I am trapped in a hell-like reality TV show where we, the military, are fighting for our lives, trying to make use of every opportunity for salvation, while the rest of the world is looking on as this plot unfolds! These events are like something out of a movie or a TV series. The only difference is that this is not a movie, and we are not fictional characters! This is real life! Pain, suffering, hunger, agony, tears, fear, death – these are all real!

What perplexes me? The cynicism! People’s cynicism knows no limits! There are generally accepted rules, they’re the same for everyone, codified in many laws, signed and stamped, but they don’t seem to apply! Then what do we need them for?

What do I hope for?

A miracle!!! I hope that some higher powers (widely understood) will find a way to save us! And this hellish reality-show will end…

Here’s how to support the Ukrainian military

Higher powers, we are waiting on the results of your actions…Time is running out, and time is our lives!”

Details: Volyna added that the soldiers defending Mariupol remain loyal to Ukraine and that they are asking everyone involved to make every possible effort to evacuate the military.

Quote from Volyna: “White flags have been used four times now for the evacuation of civilians, they are used during every evacuation. The lives of 3 soldiers and the wounds suffered by another 6 soldiers were the price we paid for the last evacuation. The Mariupol garrison has done everything possible to save the civilians.”
