Rocket.chat and UCS: How do you deploy it?
Point your web browser towards your UCS server and log in as administrator. Click on the App center icon to log in. If you are logged in for the first time, search for Rocket.chat as the database populates. There have been a few occasions when the list of apps refused to populate. This problem is usually solved by a reboot. Also, it is possible that you will need to first access the Software update module before you are able to use the App Center.
Click Mail & Messaging in the left sidebar and you should see the Rocket.chat entry (Figure A).
Click on the Rocket.chat icon, and then in the resulting window (Figure BClick HERE to Install
You will need to activate your UCS instance before you can proceed with the installation. This is done by entering an email and waiting for the license keys to arrive. After that, upload the license key onto the server.
The installation should take only a few moments. After the installation is complete, click on MANAGE INSTALLATION. After it finishes, you will be prompted for your admin username and rocket.chat password. Once you have completed the setup wizard, you will be prompted to log in.Figure CThis guide walks you through server registration, organizational information, and admin information.
After completing the setup wizard, you will be taken to your Rocket.chat account, where you can further manage your deployment (branding and user management, etc.). You can also chat with your coworkers.
This is all you need to deploy Rocket.chat via Univention Corporate Server. This is a simple way to get the benefit of an intra-company collaboration tool. It’s easy to use, so give it a try and see if you don’t make it your default for LAN-based communication.
