After the AHL recall, Dell is likely to start for Sabres on Thursday

After being recalled from the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Rochester AmericansOn Wednesday. The 32-year-old goaltender is expected to start in net against the Predators on Thursday, replacing Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen as the team’s starting goaltender while he recovers from a lower-body injury sustained during Tuesday’s game versus the Tampa Bay Lightning. This season, Dell has a save percentage of.872 (SV%) in seven games against the Sabres.

While Dell has had a difficult year at the NHL level, he has been successful in the AHL. He holds a perfect record of 5-0-0 with the Americans and a solid.910SV%. He still hopes to win his first NHL game and will be looking to do so when he travels to Nashville. The Sabres’ goaltending has been a carousel this season, and Dell is next in line to try proving himself in the blue paint.

Houser gets a new NHL opportunity with a one-year Sabres contract

The Sabres signed Houser, goaltender, to a $750K, one-year contract. Houser was joined by Luukkonen (upper-body injury), and Malcolm Subban, who are both out of service. He was a part of four games last season with Buffalo, where he posted a combined.901SV%. He has a.900SV% in 11 games this season with the Americans. He has been regularly playing for Rochester and is now able to get another shot at his NHL dreams.

“Houser was an inspiration last year and did exceptionally well,” Sabres head coach Don Granato saidAfter Wednesday’s practice. “He’s an overachiever and that’s exactly what we’re about right now and what we need.”

He is expected to serve as the backup goaltender against the Predators on Thursday, but there is a good chance he sees NHL action with Luukkonen’s status week-to-week and Subban’s month-to-month. While it is terrible news the Sabres’ main goaltending duo is sidelined for the next while, it is exciting to have new storylines like Houser’s arise. It will be fascinating to see what he does in big league.

Dahlin Continues Hot Streak with Seven Points in the Last Eight Games

Dahlin has seven points, including three goals and four assists, in the Sabres’ last eight games. Dahlin, 21 years old, is currently one point behind Tage Thompson in the team’s lead in points. He has 22 points in his 35 games, including six goals and 16 assists. Despite the Sabres’ rough season, with a 10-19-6 record, Dahlin is prospering and building confidence and success on the ice.

He will be looking to continue his streak of wins against the Predators, who are tied for second in the NHL with a record of 24-11-2. Although it will be a difficult match for the young defenseman this should give him some great challenges that can help improve his game. Dahlin’s next point will tie his points total from 56 games last season.

The Sabres are in Nashville for their match against the Predators. Thursday, 8 p.m. ET. Buffalo has lost its six previous games and is still searching for its 2022 win. This season, the Sabres have had to deal with injuries and COVID-19. They now face yet another wave in adversity.
