Oilers add 2 more players to protocol, game vs. Senators rescheduled

Two games were postponed by the National Hockey League due to COVID-related problems affecting the Edmonton Oilers or New Jersey Devils.

According to the league, Edmonton’s Monday home game against Ottawa Senators will now be played Saturday night at Rogers Place.

It is still not clear when Monday’s game between Tampa Bay Lightning Lightning and Devils will take place.

On Sunday, the Oilers added forwards Warren Foegele to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol. This was just one day after the Oilers added six players and five members of their support staff to that list.

Oilers stated that Sunday’s team practice was cancelled.

The Senators, meanwhile, have played one game – a 6-0 loss to Toronto on Jan. 1 – since Dec. 18. Ottawa will not return to the ice before Thursday night in Calgary.
