Bowen Byram, Avalanche’s Bowen Byram, is forced to leave with an upper-body injury during the first period vs. Canucks

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Bowen Byram left Thursday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks with what the team called an upper-body injury and will not return. Byram suffered the injury in the first half of the game and was only playing for five minutes.

After taking an elbow from Bo Horvat, Byram was forced to leave in the second period. He didn’t return for the second period, and was then ruled out. Jared Bednard, Coach, stated after the game that Byram would undergo a re-evaluation and be checked for concussions Friday morning.

Bowen, who was fourth in the NHL Draft 2019, had eight points in 10 games. Bowen suffered a concussion during March. He did not play any more games in the 2020-21 season.
