Trader Joe’s Spicy Dill Flavored Kettle-Cooked Potato Chips

Everything changed after I discovered…

I’d love to be a father.

I was unaware that Pearl Jam can be played too loud in my car.

Hanson’s lead singer was a man. This made for awkward teenage feelings.

Trader Joe’s Dill Flavored Kettle Cooked Potato chips It’s not true, no matter how crazy that ginger-mopped looking pseudo-lepruachaun doofus claims on the package. Because similar photos of me growing up are available, I can only confirm that. You can see the “awkward teenage” comment above.

However, I did find one very interesting chip.

I prefer kettle chips to be my choice of chip. While I might occasionally indulge in lattice cuts, I also enjoy baked varieties (stale Styrofoam anyone?).Not kettle-cooked, however. With the super-extra-crunchilicious hearty bite? These are, as you would expect, spot-on.

But what about the flavor? Hmm. It’s hard to quantify them. It’s possible that the chips are more spicy than what is stated, but the pickle flavor could be amplifying the spices. It’s difficult to distinguish between the spice and picklish flavors. Let’s try a new word. Spicy + pickley = “spickley” It’s not a tasteless product. There are some differences, but that’s where the fun lies. After repeated tastings, I couldn’t quite figure it out.

The chips are reminiscent of barbeque chips, but with salt and vinegar chips with dill weed outside. This gives them a distinct pickle flavor. I wanted to laugh at the last sentence because that was what my “awkward teenage” self thought. It’s there. It has heat with a pickle twist for a flavor that lasts a while. You’ll feel your breath go stale.

Sandy and me both enjoy them, though I’m still confused by them. Sandy believes the chips could have been a lot pickier. She said that the chips are “more spicy than anything.” While I agree with some of her points, I’m not entirely sure how to respond in a productive fashion. Let’s hope we can all have some fun together. They are in the usual price range of $2 to $3 per bag, although neither of us can recall the exact price. They are a bit more liked by her than mine, and she gave four. I will take a slight step back.
