Conor McGregor could be wealthier than Tom Brady.
2020 was an important year for Conor McGregor. He was named Forbes’ richest athlete in the world and now 2021 is not looking too shabby for the former two-division champion.
Stats from Ladbrokes show that McGregor earns more per minute than many of the most prominent names in sports.
With an average of $8.6 million per hour in 2021, he is the top earner. Canelo Alvarez only earned $444,000 per hour. NFL GOAT Tom Brady, who earns $37,000 per minute, is next. Then there are two soccer stars at the bottom of the list: $32,000 per minute for Neymar, and $18,000 per Minute for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Conor McGregor didn’t even fight three full rounds in 2021
McGregor only fought twice in 2021. He lost both fights against Dustin Poirier. McGregor sustained a horrific leg injury in the second round, and the first bout ended in second round.
He’s hoping to make a return in 2022.
Forbes hasn’t released their list for 2021’s richest athletes so we don’t know if McGregor will top it again or if someone like Brady will knock him out of the number one position.
