Big Ben plays up Steelers playoff underdog story

Ben Roethlisberger knows the Steelers are major underdogs against the Chiefs and he’s not letting that bring him down.

Nearly everyone is not giving the Pittsburgh Steelers any chance against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday. Pittsburgh managed to make it into the playoffs, but the Chargers-Raiders game almost gave many people heart attacks.

The Steelers will be facing Patrick Mahomes and Co. at the Wild Card Round. The Steelers aren’t expected to keep things close, but Ben Roethlisberger made it more than clear he’s entering the showdown with a ‘nothing to lose’ mentality.

Steelers are aware that their backs are against a wall in the Chiefs game.

Roethlisberger can see that Chiefs are heavy favorites in that quote. He almost made it seem like he’s assuming Pittsburgh will lose, but we know that’s not the case. This man is a competitor and he’s going to give it all he’s got to take down KC, even if no one thinks it will go down.

Can you imagine Pittsburgh pulling off the win? Again, that’s not expected, as the Chiefs have been to the Super Bowl in two straight years and they’ve got a great shot to make it three seasons in a row.

While the Steelers are expected to try to end those hopes on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will have their own opinions. Roethlisberger is likely to announce his retirement in the near future, but he’s got at least one more game in him before hanging up his cleats. With a stunning result on Sunday, we’ll of course see him move on to the Divisional Round. We wouldn’t count on that, however.
