The New Orleans Saints were eliminated in Week 18. Here are three members of the organization who likely won’t return in 2022.

Despite all the injuries that they sustained throughout the season the New Orleans Saints still had a chance to secure a playoff spot for Week 18. They had to defeat the Atlanta Falcons, and the San Francisco 49ers have to lose to them.

New Orleans stayed true to their bargain and beat Atlanta 30-20. The Rams failed to score at the end regulation, which allowed the 49ers to win the overtime victory by 27-24. Therefore, the 49ers are now in playoffs and the Saints are not.

With an estimated $62 million more than the cap in 2022 for the Saints, they will have another important offseason. Per Over the Cap. New Orleans could be the site of some organizational changes.

These are the three Saints who might not be returning for the season of 2022.

Alvin Kamara is the Saints’ running coach. New Orleans made a deal with the Houston Texans to bring back Mark Ingram and extended his one-year contract.

There are only two places for running backs, so there are only two carries. Look at the Saints’ official depth chartDwayne Washington might be leaving New Orleans.

Washington joined the Saints in 2018 and is now an unrestricted agent free of charge at the start the new league year. Washington ran for 16 yards this season in just four games, and Washington was only given four carries.

In total, Washington ran for 345 yard on 47 carries over four years (53 matches). His snaps were mainly on special-teams.

Tony Jones Jr. is under contract with the Saints and they could select another running back during the NFL Draft. Ty Montgomery is an option for them if they decide to sign another running back in free agency. He can also play wide receiver.
