Gail Kim, also known as Gail Kim Irvine was born on 20ThFebruary 1977, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her education includes York Memorial Collegiate Institute where she received a major and a degree in kinesiology at the University of Toronto. After graduating from Ryerson University, she majored in nutrition.

Gail Kim decided to become a professional wrestler after completing her degree from Ryerson University, which led her to join Ron Hutchison’s School of Pro Wrestling in Toronto.  She had her first match in the independent circuit in December of 2000, wearing a mask and wrestling as “The Queen of the Cats” in Apocalypse Wrestling Federation. She was finally unmasked when she faced Tracy Brooks.

After working for one year on the independent circuit she joined the World Wrestling Entertainment in January 2001. This was the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). She started wrestling in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), a then-developing territory. She wrestled dark matches and house shows before being called up to the main roster.

On 30 she made her debut.Th of June 2003 episode of Raw competing in a seven-woman battle royal match for the  WWE Women’s Championship, which she won by eliminating  Victoria and held the title for four weeks before losing it to Molly Holly. After that, she fought with Lita, Trish Stratus and Victoria for most of 2003, before being released on the 3rd of November 2004 as a result of cost-cutting.

She joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2005 and made her promotion debut on the 8.Th of October 2005 episode of TNA Impact!, and took on the role of the manager of America’s Most Wanted (AMW) and Jeff Jarrett. She turned her attention to singles competition after the group disbanded in early 2007.

The 14Th of October 2007 at Bound for Glory PPV, she became become the inaugural TNA Women’s Knockout Champion by outlasting nine other competitors in a ten-woman gauntlet match. She then began a feud with Awesome Kong over the championship, which is considered to be one of the greatest women’s wrestling feuds of the 2000s.

In August 2008, her contract was terminated by TNA. She then resigned from WWE and continued to wrestle at the company until 2011. However, this run with the company wasn’t as impressive as her first run.
